The Stone

"As I described the rock and what I had gone through to get it, my father reached out, and I handed it to him. My father rolled the stone around in the palm of his right hand, placed the rock in his left hand, and fit the tip of his right index finger into several of the indents. He then placed the rock back in his right hand and tilted it so that the dark-green indents became brighter as they caught the light of the sun. He spoke to my mother as he handed the rock to her. What do you think now?"
